Crystal Dynamics, the team behind the recently-released Marvel’s Avengers, is reportedly already hard at work on a brand new game.

As spotted by ComicBook, a series of new job listings at the studio reveal that work is now underway on the next AAA game from the company – though what this could be, we have no idea.
A number of new job opportunities have popped up on the Crystal Dynamics website, which isn’t all too surprising considering that Marvel’s Avengers is going to be getting new content and regular updates for the foreseeable future.

Lots of the job listings specifically reference the new Avengers game – but it’s the ones which don’t that have caught peoples’ attention.
According to the website, a “new AAA game” is in its “formative” stages, and requires experienced pros for roles including Gameplay Camera Designer.
“Join now to be part of the formative stages of a new AAA game being built in our Redwood City studio, just south of San Francisco,” states one of the listings.

Another job opportunity in Redwood City, presumably for the same game, mentions it will be “a high-quality narrative AAA gameplay experience.” Watch out Naughty Dog…
Sadly, at this stage, we have absolutely no idea what the mysterious new game (or even games, plural) might be. Whatever it is, hopefully the team is dedicated to a standalone experience and not the controversial games-as-a-service model of Marvel’s Avengers…

Marvel’s Avengers has divided fans since launch, with many praising its combat and flair, but taking issue with the level design and the overwhelming number of optional additional purchases. Though the game has definitely found a fanbase, it’s not exactly reached the lofty heights of, say, PlayStation 4 exclusive, Marvel’s Spider-Man.
What are you hoping for from Crystal Dynamics?
