Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is nearly here, and though we know a lot of details on the upcoming game, there’s one thing we don’t know too much about yet: zombies.

Zombies mode has been confirmed to be making a return to Call of Duty with Black Ops Cold War, but that’s all we really know about it right now. However, that doesn’t mean we haven’t seen some leaks on the matter.

As spotted by LADBible, known industry insider Tom Henderson is claiming to have the latest on zombies mode, and has stated that some of the classic zombies maps will be making a return alongside the mode.

Tweeting the unconfirmed news, Henderson tells gamers that the story will be based on the escape of Nazi zombies from Nacht der Untoten, the original map which introduced zombies mode back in Call of Duty: World At War. According to the leak, Nacht is being reused by the Russians for their nuclear program.

Players will allegedly be facing off against both zombie Nazis who’ve escaped, and Russian zombies who’ve been turned.

The mode will feature classic World War 2-era weapons which have remained on site, but a new crew will be in place to keep this fresh and exciting. Henderson also claims that players will only have access to a torch until the power in the facility is turned on.

Of course, as an unverified leak, take the rumours with a dash of salt for now. That being said, here’s hoping there’s at least some truth to these rumours, because this is definitely sounding like what we want from the return of zombies in Call of Duty!
