Marvel’s Midnight Suns have been delayed indefinitely, 2K Games have confirmed. However, at this time, we have no new release date.
News of the delay first broke on social media with a statement issued by the publisher. The moral of the delay is “to ensure the best possible experience for our fans,” wrote 2K Games.
Midnight Suns was announced in 2021
Developed by Firaxis Games, Midnight Suns was announced in August 2021 with its release originally planned for March 2022. Unfortunately, since its announcement, it has been delayed more than once and its most recent date was October this year.
“We have made the decision to move back the launch timing of Marvel’s Midnight Suns to ensure the teams at Firaxis Games and 2K deliver the best possible experience for our fans,” read the statement.
“The title will launch later this fiscal year on Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5,” continued the statement. “The Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions will follow at a later date.”
At this time, 2K or developers Firaxis Games haven’t announced a new release date. However, it does now have a vague, current fiscal year release. This means that Marvel’s Midnight Suns could arrive as late as March 2023.
An RPG inspired by XCOM
In case you didn’t know, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a tactical role-playing game inspired by the likes of the XCOM series, also developed by Firaxis Games.
Midnight Suns will feature a vast cast of Marvel characters including Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Wolverine, as well as Blade and more. However, players will primarily main as a new character called the “Hunter”.
Hopefully, with the next batch of news for the tactical RPG, we might be treated to some new Marvel’s Midnight Suns gameplay as well as a solid release date.
