The upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will require double the amount of storage than its predecessor according to one Twitter user.
With the Marvel’s Spider-Man sequel set to release in October, players are turning their attention to how much storage they will have to free on their PlayStation 5.
In bad news for those with internet downloads on the slow side, the sequel is set to require double the amount of storage than the original 2018 title.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Storage Requirements
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will require at least 98 GB of storage space, according to a post made on Twitter.
This news comes courtesy of a post by user @SpiderManCD who announced the news alongside an image of the Limited Edition Console Bundle Retail Box.
Despite the game not set for release until October, it would appear some limited edition bundles have made their way out into the world.
As a result, although it currently states that the game requires 98 GB, this could be subject to change as we get closer to launch.
Double the Size
Regardless, this news reveals that Spider-Man 2 will be double the size of the original game which came in at 45 GB on the PlayStation 4.
When the game was remastered in 2022, storage increased to 71 GB for the PS5.
This is perhaps unsurprising considering Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s map will reportedly be “double the size” of its predecessor.
In a report by The Washington Post back in June, we discovered that this instalment will feature a lot more of New York, including Brooklyn, Queens and other boroughs.
