Meta Quest Pro has been announced with a whopping £1,500 price tag. Making it over £1,000 more expensive than Meta Quest 2.
This is a premium device in almost every way. Meta says that its main purpose is for business, but it can also play games. Furthermore, Meta’s shiny new VR device is releasing as early as this month.
How does the Meta Quest Pro compare to PSVR2?
In terms of basic specs, the Meta Quest Pro has a resolution of 1800×1920 per eye compared to 2000×2040 per eye for the PSVR2. The Pro has a 105-degree field-of-view compared to 110 of the PSVR2. The Pro has a Refresh Rate of 90hz and the PSVR2 120hz/90hz.
Meta’s premium VR device has five inside-out tracking controllers, while the PSVR2 has four. Both headsets have built-in microphones and speakers. Both sets of controllers have motion controls. However, the PSVR2 has DualSense and Adaptive trigger feedback. The Pro controllers have no feedback.

As with the Meta Quest 2, this premium version is also completely wireless. Whereas, the PSVR2 will require a single USB-C cable to connect to the PlayStation 5. Furthermore, as the Pro is a standalone device, it will have its own unique specs as the PSVR2 will need the PS5 to function.
The new Meta VR device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2-Plus processor, 256GB in storage space, and its wireless battery life is said to be between 1 to 2 hours. The battery life aspect is a little disappointing, compared to the Meta Quest 2 which can average between 3 to 5 hours.
How do the prices compare?
As we already know, the Meta Quest Pro has a hefty price tag of £1,500/$1,500. In currency terms, this means that the UK is paying on average about £140 more than the US. At this time Sony still hasn’t announced a price for the PSVR2. However, we do know that it will launch in early 2023.
When will the Meta Quest Pro be released?
The Meta Quest Pro has a release date of October 25th this month.
