Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players were all hyped and ready when Senior Communications Manager at Infinity Ward, Ashton Williams, cryptically teased us all about a new update coming to the game.
Earlier this week, Williams took to Twitter to tell us all a “huge” update is coming very soon and now the update is live, Infinity Ward has a lot of explaining to do.
Sharing the latest patch notes (November 22) on Reddit, the latest 15GB update is actually offering very little in the way of new content, and it’s left a lot of players disappointed.
The update seems nothing more than a basic patch when what Williams hinted at was expected to be a little more groundbreaking.
On Reddit, one user responded to the patch notes, writing: “I don’t mean to sound entitled but is this ‘the big update’? No lighting, SBMM, spawns, or even mini map issues addressed?”
Another user raged: “holy f*cking sh*t, seriously…Ashton Williams on twitter the other day: ‘ermahgerd gois its like 2 pages of notes’
“………….k…………………………………”
The thread is now filled with comments of disappointment – and anger – and I’m not really surprised.
Yet another player writes: “i will never not think of this when a disappointing update comes out. This comes to mind EVERY time. XD”
The rage continues on Twitter, where players are blaming Infinity Ward, accusing the company of ignoring what the players want.
One angry player rants: “#modernwarfare after this ‘BIG UPDATE’ you have clearly shown you are embracing the new COD players, but at the cost of saying a big f*ck you to all the die hard veterans of 10 years. Very disappointed.”
Another said: “2019 gaming is wanting to play a couple games of Modern Warfare before work but having to install a 20gb update that takes around 30 minutes only to get in the game and then install more shaders for 15 more minutes. F*ck you im playing Geometry Dash now”
