Update [11pm]: Capcom has officially confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise is coming to all previously reported platforms. However, that is not all, because it is also launching on Xbox Game Pass.
Original story: Monster Hunter Rise is reportedly coming to PlayStation and Xbox. Currently, Capcom’s action RPG is only available on PC and Nintendo Switch.
As reported by Insider Gaming, not only will Monster Hunter Rise come to PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, but it will also be coming to Xbox Game Pass. Happy days.
When will the port arrive?
However, the popular multiplayer franchise is expected to arrive on PlayStation and Xbox as early as January 20th, 2023. Furthermore, its Sunbreak expansion is said to launch in Spring 2023.
Monster Hunter Rise is a popular entry
Despite only being released for PC and Nintendo Switch, Rise is one of the franchise’s most popular entries. Across both platforms, it has sold over 11 million copies while its expansion has sold 4 million.
At this time, we must take all rumours and speculation with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise. Capcom is yet to make an official announcement. Some are hoping that the Monster Hunter announcement will take place next week at The Game Awards.
Capcom’s RPG does not support cross-play
At the time of writing, Monster Hunter Rise does not feature cross-play support. However, when the action RPG is eventually available on PC, PlayStation, Xbox as well as Nintendo Switch, many will be hoping for that to change.
