NetherRealm has announced the upcoming dates for the Mortal Kombat 1 beta. However, it will only be available for console users.
With Mortal Kombat releasing on September 19, console users will be able to get their hands on the fighting game a few weeks early. However, the beta is a bonus available to people who have pre-ordered only.
Mortal Kombat 1 Beta Date Release Date
The beta will start on Friday August 18 and will run until Monday August 21. The weekend-long beta was announced by series co-creator Ed Boon via Twitter. Although the dates have been announced, we may have to wait a bit longer to receive exact times.
“August 18th. My mother’s birthday. Tobias’s mother’s birthday. 1995 MK Movie release date. and now… the #MK1 pre-Order beta !!” announced Boon.
As mentioned, the beta will be available to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S owners who have already preordered the game. This will be the only way to access it. Unfortunately, the pre-order bonus isn’t available for those who will be playing on PC.
What We Can Expect
As for Mortal Kombat 1, NetherRealm recently announced the roster of characters who will be returning to the much-loved fighting game.
This includes Baraka, Tanya, Li Mei and Darrius as a Kameo Fighter. Additionally, the Kombat Pack DLC will feature The Boys’ Homelander, Invincible’s Omni-Man, DC’s Peacemaker, as well as the return of Ermac, Quan Chi, and Takeda.
An exciting line-up to say the least.

Despite the beta only coming to console, the full game will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on September 19.
