Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord FINALLY Has An Early Access Release Date

After eight years of development, Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord finally has a release date.

It’s been a long time coming, with the last game coming out an impressive ten years ago.

TaleWorlds has released a trailer for the game on YouTube, and announced that it will be available on Steam Early Access in March 2020.

PC Gamer spoke to TaleWorld’s CEO, Armagan Yavuz, at Gamescom. He explained that Mount & Blade 2 has 90 developers, so the early access tests are crucial. Those who access the game when it drops on Steam will effectively be beta testers.

“We can test one path quite easily,” he said. “But with a game as ambitious as Bannerlord, we need to test and check out maybe a million different paths,

“What it will be mostly for is making sure all these different interactions work, and the players are happy and have good feedback about all the different features.”

The full game’s release date will come in time. Yavuz concluded: “It’s at a very rudimentary stage.”

Mount & Blade 2’s description says: “The horns sound, the ravens gather. An empire is torn by civil war. Beyond its borders, new kingdoms rise. Gird on your sword, don your armour, summon your followers and ride forth to win glory on the battlefields of Calradia. Establish your hegemony and create a new world out of the ashes of the old,

“Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is the eagerly awaited sequel to the acclaimed medieval combat simulator and role-playing game Mount & Blade: Warband. Set 200 years before, it expands both the detailed fighting system and the world of Calradia. Bombard mountain fastnesses with siege engines, establish secret criminal empires in the back alleys of cities, or charge into the thick of chaotic battles in your quest for power.”
