Naughty Dog is officially hiring for its next game, and though we don’t know what exactly it might be, we do know it’s definitely a single player adventure.
The news comes straight from the Naughty Dog’s mouth by way of its careers website, which is currently advertising a number of roles within the esteemed game development company.
One of the positions seeks a Level/Environment Artist for an unannounced single player game, confirming this definitely isn’t for the only confirmed ND project in the works right now: The Last of Us Part 2’s standalone multiplayer.

The job description looks for someone with experience of game design for console games (no surprise there), specifically with an “eye for art composition, architectural concepts, and an ability to create evocative shapes.”
Naughty Dog also teases the prospect of future games in another listing, which states: “We are looking for talented animators to help us create compelling gameplay for our future project(s).” Meanwhile, several of the roles call for experience with motion capture animation, perhaps suggesting we’re looking at a more realistic game than, say, a return to Jak and Daxter.

Another eye-catching role is that of CHARACTER CONCEPT ARTIST, the description of which sounds a lot like a brand-new character is being created, with Naughty Dog’s “narrative-driven worlds” in mind. Though again, we don’t know for which IP.
Yeah, I’m as much in the dark as you here when it comes to what’s a-brewing at ND, but hey, a single player Naughty Dog adventure is in development, so surely that’s enough reason to celebrate! Personally, I’m hoping for an Uncharted spin-off, maybe starring the youngest member of the Drake family…?
