A Naughty Dog concept artist has debunked claims that his fantasy artwork is related to the studio’s next game.

Earlier in the week you may remember a story of ours that featured some quite stunning artwork from a concept artist at Naughty Dog.
The concept art in question featured three pieces of work, all of which included a female character.
The artwork was created by Naughty Dog artist Hyoung Nam, and looked to be very fantasy RPG-inspired. One particular piece of artwork included a woman who seemed to be reflecting on slaying a dragon-like creature.

The artwork was uploaded to Nam’s ArtStation page and, to be fair, it did seem that he was teasing something as his post read: “Inspire from the new game. You know what I’m talking about…”
Sadly however, as promising as this artwork seemed to be, Nam has debunked the possibility that it was related in any way to Naughty Dog.

As it turns out the artwork in question was apparently inspired by Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. When speaking to IGN, Nam clarified: “The illustration is not for Naughty Dog’s next new game.”
Nam has also updated his ArtStation post to make it clear that his artwork is inspired by Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla.

So there you have it, it seems that Naughty Dog is not working on a fantasy RPG or at least that’s what they want us to believe 😉
