New actors for the second season of Netflix’s The Witcher series have reportedly been cast, and it seems we’ll be seeing voice actors from The Witcher video games.
Recently it was announced that actress Rebecca Hanssen (Dixie TV series) will be playing Queen Meve of Lyria and Rivia, who fans of Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales will recognise.
However according to reports from Redanian Intelligence, Rebecca Hanssen will also be joined by further cast members of The Witcher video game series.
Joining Hanssen will be Alastair Parker, who not only played dwarf Cleaver in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but who has also played roles in Dragon Age: Inquisition, Ni no Kuni 2 and GreedFall. However Parker’s role in season two of The Witcher is currently unknown.
I personally think it’s a nice touch that the folks at Netflix are drafting in the voice actors from The Witcher video game series, especially as the Netflix adaptation is largely based upon the Andrzej Sapkowski novels rather than the games themselves.
Hopefully we’ll get even more voice actors brought in from the video game series as it will be a welcome nod to fans that are not perhaps so familiar with the novels.
In related news, while we didn’t get a review code for Cyberpunk 2077 from The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red, we did review the next best thing – the “Geralt in the bathtub” scene from five year old game, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
You can read our review of the bathtub scene from The Wither 3: Wild Hunt here or you can just click on the link as an excuse to look at Geralt of Rivia chilling in a bathtub. We won’t judge!
Cyberpunk 2077 will release this week, December 10, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Google Stadia.
