Netflix’s highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of The Witcher has been given a release window, and it’s coming sooner than you might have thought.
Deadline reports that Netflix has confirmed a late 2019 release for the show during a recent investor call.
During the call, Netflix’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandso gave a release window of Q4 2019, meaning it’ll be hitting our screens anytime from October 2019. Which is great news. Hopefully.
The series, which will star Henry Cavill, is going to be a must-see for fans of the CD Projekt Red games (and the books they’re based on), but that seems to have only worried Witcher fans even more.
Unfortunately, although Netflix is an absolute powerhouse of original television series and movies, it’s not exactly always hit the mark when reimagining existing franchises.
Netflix’s Death Note live-action movie was terrible. It was really, really bad. And if The Witcher doesn’t get the treatment it deserves, fans are going to be livid.
It's likely it could end up worse than evolution. Evolution had a chance to be a mediocre live action (cheap effects, but actually follow the story and guidance of Toriyama) but Netflix is almost 100% going to change the story like evolution (look at death note and the witcher)

At least we won’t have too long to wait though, as Q4 is just a few months away!
In other CD Projekt Red news, the gaming community has been busy praying to the Old Gods and the New in the hopes of getting a Cyberpunk 2077 release date at E3 this year.
It’s been heavily hinted that this might be when we finally get a release date for the dystopian RPG, and if not, CD Projekt Red has at least promised us a huge show.
