But not awful, right? Right?!

New Fable Is ‘Like Making A Star Wars Movie,’ Says Xbox

The world is thrilled with the news that Fable is making a comeback, but as you’d expect, it’s not easy feat to revive one of the most beloved fantasy franchises of all time.

According to Xbox Game Studio boss Matt Booty, creating a new addition to the Fable series is akin to creating a new Star Wars movie (let’s not tell him about how Rise of the Skywalker ended, mmkay?)

Speaking to the Guardian, Booty confessed that the journey to Fable Series X has been a tough one, especially when it comes to balancing nostalgia with new content.

“With any kind of franchise like that, where you’ve had existing versions, there’s always that balance between what you’re going to bring forward, what still stands up, and what you want to add that’s new,” Booty told the publication.

“It’s like the challenge of making a new Star Wars movie – there’s stuff that everyone wants you to bring along, but then you’ve got a responsibility to take that to new places and I trust Playground has a good vision for that.”

Let’s hope Fable doesn’t end up like the recent Star Wars trilogy!

In related news, new rumours suggest Fable is not a direct sequel, but instead some form of reboot, reimagining or even an MMO. The news stem from the game’s name, which interestingly is simply “Fable,” and not “Fable 4.”

This is backed up by the trailer’s description, which calls it a “new beginning for the legendary franchise.”

“Fable returns with a new beginning for the legendary franchise. Explore a land of fantastical creatures and wondrous places. Developed by Playground Games for Xbox Series X and Windows 10,” says the official description.

It’s a mystery for now, but here’s hoping we find out more sooner rather than later!
