Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set to get content updates throughout the whole of the game’s Season One, and the latest new batch of goodies to delve through is due to drop today (Dec. 18). For longstanding fans of the Call of Duty franchise, the new additions to the game are likely to be VERY welcome, as they reintroduce some classic CoD maps, and add in one of the most popular game modes of all time.
The much-loved Shipment map will be introduced as part of the new update, offering up a small space for matches that are sure to get pretty hard, fast and brutal. Along with Shipment comes the Vacant map best remembered from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Just like Shipment, Vacant is a pretty small size and best for fast matches.
The update doesn’t end there though, as a new 2v2 Gunfight map called Over Winter is coming, along with new Spec Ops missions and new Limited Time Modes.
Perhaps most exciting is the introduction of new game mode, Cranked. Cranked was made famous (or should that be “infamous”?) in Call of Duty: Ghosts. The game mode gives you 30 seconds to kill an enemy and is definitely not meant for campers. Expect a lot of drama and hardcore play in Cranked!
Those who’ve already installed the update are already having a butt-load of fun with Cranked, which spells good news for those still waiting to check it out!
CoD’s Season One has a free level of content and a paid Battle Pass to unlock all the features. In the trailer for today’s update, Activision and Infinity Ward promise all the new content for December 18th is free.
