EDIT: Since the time of writing, the PlayStation 5 games reveal has been cancelled.
Original story as follows:
It seems a revisit to the restless town of our dreams may be on the cards for later this week, if a new rumour is to be believed. We’ve been hearing a lot about a potential Silent Hill reboot coming our way, and it’s existence could be confirmed as soon as Thursday, June 4th.

The latest rumours come from known horror game leaker, AestheticGamer on Twitter, who’s been a pretty reliable source of leaks for games like Resident Evil in the past. AestheticGamer has also been fairly vocal on their supposed knowledge of a Silent Hill project, though as of yet, nothing has been verified. As always, take the rumours with a pinch of salt.
AestheticGamer recently took to Twitter with an update on Silent Hill, claiming a reveal could be coming later this week during the PlayStation 5 games reveal, which is scheduled for June 4th.

“‘I’ll lay this out again bluntly,” they tweeted. “Silent Hill if [sic] the Japan Studios, Toyama directing, etc, stuff is all true will either be revealed on the 4th or in August. It SHOULD be the 4th as the team is excited to reveal it, the game is PS5 exclusive and it’s in a playable state.”
They followed up, adding: “The only reason it might not is it’s not a launch game. Resident Evil 8 I have no idea when the reveal is, but it was supposed to be E3 originally. It’s a cross-gen game, similarly I think August is the latest it’ll show up, but I suspect it’ll show up somewhere this month.”
With a rumour like this, we won’t know until we know. Thankfully, June 4th is right around the corner. Sony’s Jim Ryan has promised the following: “We will soon give you a first look at the games you’ll be playing after PlayStation 5 launches this holiday. The games coming to PS5 represent the best in the industry from innovative studios that span the globe.”
The event will run “a bit more than an hour,” so expect some good reveals!
