A new Tony Hawk Pro Skater game has been rumoured for a while now, but it looks like some solid information might have finally come to light.
It’s claimed that a Tony Hawk 2020 game will be launching – you guessed it – in 2020, and it comes from a pretty reliable source – a band from the game’s soundtrack.
As shared to Twitter by known games leaker, Nibel, the band The Death Set shared an update to their Facebook page, where they wrote: “Just licensed 5 new songs to Tony Hawk 2020 game. You’ll be hearing this sh*t soon.”
The supposed news lines up with a similar leak from last year, when a professional skater seemed to let slip her upcoming work on the game.
An interview with professional skateboarder Lizzie Armanto made the rounds, in which she reportedly outright confirmed a new Tony Hawk game is happening.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing the audio clip has been edited on SoundCloud and is no longer available.
Chatting on The Nine Club podcast in October 2019, Armanto was asked about her role in the last Pro Skater game, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5. She responded saying “he’s coming out with another one, and I’ll be in that too.”
This came shortly after a known industry insider, known as Sabi on Twitter, also shared some similar knowledge.
Sabi, who has accurately predicated a number of leaks in the past, told their followers: “So about that Activision remake that had some work done I mentioned a week or two ago…Sure hope you like skating.”
Sabi’s Twitter account has since stopped sharing video game leaks.
There’s yet to be any official word from either Activision or the Tony Hawk team, so as always, take it with a grain of salt for now. Whether or not the supposed game is a remake or a new game entirely remains to be seen.
