The first proper trailer for Willy’s Wonderland starring Nicolas Cage has been released, and it’s basically Five Nights at Freddy’s.
In a nutshell Willy’s Wonderland is essentially FNAF the movie, and seeing as that movie won’t be releasing anytime soon, this will more than fill the void.
In Willy’s Wonderland Nicolas Cage plays a “quiet drifter” and after his fancy car gets a punctured tyre, he’s left stranded. He’s then offered a janitorial job at a condemned family pizza restaurant and must survive the night.
If Cage survives, his car gets fixed and he can be on his way. The only problem is that Willy’s Wonderland is overrun by killer animatronics that will brutally kill anyone that sets foot in the demonic playground.
If this all sounds very familiar, it’s because you’re familiar with Five Nights at Freddy’s. In the original FNAF you play as a security guard at a family pizza restaurant overrun by killer animatronics, and you must survive the five nights of your employment.
While an official FNAF movie is happening, it’s seemingly a long way off and the last we heard of it was back in November 2020. It was reported that the movie is still on the way but it’s been met with complications due to the series’ complex lore.
Willy’s Wonderland doesn’t even try to hide the fact that it’s clearly inspired by the Five Nights at Freddy’s series, but Willy’s Wonderland has a Trump Card up its sleeve and that Trump Card is called Nicolas Cage!
Willy’s Wonderland is full of horror B-movie goodness. It’s directed by Kevin Lewis and will release on streaming platforms from February 12th.
