Nier Automata Was Almost Cancelled Because the Developer Hated Early Mornings

Ever since action-RPG Nier: Automata from Square Enix released in 2017 for PlayStation 4 and PC (June 2018 for Xbox One), it has been winning a flurry of awards and accolades, and is held in very high regard by fans alike. However, this award winning game almost never came to be, because the games director and screen writer, Yako Taro disliked waking up early in the morning.

The question “Nier: Automata was almost cancelled because Yoko Taro hates waking up early” was asked by a fan on Twitter for which the famed developed known for his work on Time Crisis II, Drakengard and Final Fantasy XIV to name but a few, simply replied “True”.

Can you imagine a world in which Nier: Automata doesn’t exist?  A game widely considered being one of the best of its genre in recent times; it’s not worth thinking about!  But do let us know your thoughts across our social media channels
