Nintendo has set a date for its E3 Direct livestream, which will feature roughly 40 minutes of Nintendo Switch announcements.
According to a recent announcement via Nintendo’s official Twitter account, the event will also be accompanied by a 3-hour edition of Treehouse Live:
“? Nintendo at #E32021: 6/15, 9am PT!
“Tune in for a #NintendoDirect with roughly 40 minutes of info focused exclusively on #NintendoSwitch software, mostly releasing in 2021, followed by around 3 hours of gameplay in #NintendoTreehouseLive | E3 2021.“
Of course, while many Nintendo fans are eager to find out more about the next iteration of the Switch, it looks like it won’t happen at this event. That being said, claiming that the event is focussed exclusively on software could be a red herring designed to maintain hype for the company’s next console.
That being said, if the Nintendo Direct event is set to feature only software news, we could also be in for a treat. Fans have long been awaiting an update on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 and various other games that are apparently in the works.
Hopefully, Nintendo will have a few surprises in store for us at this year’s E3. While we know that Nintendo is currently working on BotW 2 and Pokémon Legends: Arceus, the company has plenty of franchises currently sitting dormant.
Of course, it’s also worth mentioning that the Nintendo Direct event will relate mainly to games releasing in 2021. Therefore, the livestream will likely mostly cover news relating to the likes of Mario Golf: Super Rush and Skyward Sword HD.
