Update 12/6/2021: Ocarina of Time has reclaimed its crown as the best rated game.
For years many have gone on about how good The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time was. It has sat comfortably at the top of the Metacritic charts but that is no longer the case. At least for now.
A new release on the Nintendo Switch is currently the best-rated video game of all time according to Metacritic.
The House in Fata Morgana – Dreams of the Revenants Edition has a Metacritic score of 100 with critics and a user score of 85. “The House in Fata Morgana is now, officially, the best game of all time,” tweets a fan on Twitter.
This means that this visual novel is rated higher than Ocarina of Time, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2, The Last of Us, and Metal Gear Solid.
What is The House in Fata Morgana – Dreams of the Revenants Edition?
The House in Fata Morgana – Dreams of the Revenants Edition is developed by HuneX and Novectacle, and is a visual novel with a mature rating.
According to the official description, The House in Fata Morgana – Dreams of the Revenants Edition is:
“A gothic suspense tale set in a cursed mansion. ‘The House in Fata Morgana’ is a full-length visual novel spanning nearly a millennium that deals in tragedy, human nature, and insanity.”
The Dreams of the Revenants Edition includes The House in Fata Morgana, A Requiem for Innocence, and Reincarnation. The bundle also includes “other additional short stories.”
The House in Fata Morgana was initially released for PC in 2016, before arriving on PS4 and PS Vita in 2019. However, the recent release on the Nintendo Switch launched in April is gaining all the attention.
