Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been one of the stand-out games of 2019 (so far), and that’s in no small part thanks to its dark, tense and memorable campaign.
However, new PlayStation stats have now revealed that just a third of Modern Warfare’s players have actually beaten the campaign, suggesting that there’s a lot more interest in the multiplayer aspect over the single-player story.
As revealed by the newest PlayStation trophy data for Modern Warfare [via TheSixthAxis], just 33.1% of player have earned the “Tea Time” trophy – the award given to those who’ve completed the campaign. The stats also revealed that just 2.4% of players have earned the “Out of the Fire” trophy, which is awarded to those who beat the game on either Veteran difficulty or Realism difficulty.
Of course, these figures don’t take Xbox One and PC players into account. Those without an internet connection are also exempt from the stats, but it’s still arguably a very useful insight when it comes to the CoD franchise.
Despite shooting for the stars with Modern Warfare’s incredibly dense and dark narrative, it seems that the players will always gravitate towards multiplayer over anything else.
One of the definite bonuses of multiplayer is, of course, the amount of new content that Activision and Infinity Ward will be able to pump into the game. The game has already received several updates since it first launch last month, and it’s only set to get bigger and better.
December will see the launch of the game’s first Battle Pass to mark the first Season for Modern Warfare.
