Mario Golf: Super Rush [Nintendo Switch]
Mario is back and this time he’s brought a club. Not as a weapon but as a way to play golf. The Mario Golf franchise is a long running spin-off of Nintendo’s iconic Mario franchise. It’s been around since the 90s but we haven’t had a new game since Mario Golf: World Tour on the 3DS back in 2014.
Mario’s take on the world of golf is far from realistic and there’s lots of wacky hijinks to expect. Much like the parties, tennis events, racing and more in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario Golf has a habit of feeling familiar whilst feeling ridiculous at the same time.

Super Rush plans to take full advantage of the motion-sensing hardware within the Switch’s Joy-Cons. Which is perfect for those of us that spent years perfecting their game in Wii Sports. It means players will have complete control over their shots, making the whole experience feel almost like a real game of golf… if golf dialled up the ridiculousness to 11.
There’s also a Speed Golf multiplayer mode. This mode transforms the game into something that’s a bit more frantic, for those of you that don’t have the patience for a full 18 holes at the usual pace. The goal is to reach the end of the course the fastest. Each character can use powerups and abilities to help them traverse the game’s elaborate golf courses, but which one will be the fastest? Well that’s all down to how well you play.
For those of you that love your sports games to have a story mode then you’re in luck, Super Rush has that too. Expect to see some of your favourite Mario characters pop up. Also expect some boss fights… because what’s golf without boss fights?
