Overcooked! All You Can Eat is getting a free update to celebrate the franchises fifth birthday. Did somebody say cake?
The new birthday-themed content includes five new levels, a new Tabby Cat chef, and even a new mechanic. Dubbed the “Switcheroo”, the new ability features portals that transport players to different areas of the kitchen. I mean, that doesn’t sound infuriating at all, does it?
As you’d perhaps expect from a manic game like Overcooked!, the whole birthday premise seems to be inspired by Alice in Wonderland. In fact, you could say that the new Cat character, the playing cards and the emphasis on tea all come from the famous Lewis Carroll novel. Let’s just hope that caterpillar doesn’t show up; he’s probably got the munchies!
What’s that? You’ve never played Overcooked!? Well, now is the perfect time to jump into the chaotic culinary caper. Not only does the All You Can Eat edition feature 200 levels, but it also includes all the DLC from previous games. If you already own Overcooked! All You Can Eat, then you’ll also be able to download the new update for free.
Sadly, if you happen to own the original Overcooked! double pack, or the individual games, it looks like you won’t be invited to the birthday party. However, All You Can Eat is free-to-play on Steam until the 11th of August, so perhaps you’ll be able to crash the party after all!
