That’s right, you can play as the one and only Kermit the Frog in the PC version of Spider-Man Remastered.
The modding community for Spider-Man Remastered on PC has been growing pretty quickly. We’ve already seen some wild mods, and now we’ve got another one to add to the list of wacky crossovers.
Kermit the Frog is now available as a playable character in Spider-Man Remastered through the power of modding. The creator, TangoTeds, announced the mod with a tweet saying “Don’t ever let me make mods again”, showing the ridiculous mod in action.
The mod replaces Spider-Man with Kermit the frog, complete with web-swinging animations and all of the titular superheroes moves in combat. He doesn’t come with Kermit’s actual voice, but I think we can live with that. It’s already pretty incredible as it is.
There is an element of creepiness to it though. Watching Kermit’s limbs stretching to beat up bad guys looks pretty insane. The model is well done overall though, and well worth a download if you feel inclined.
It’s available on Nexus Mods, along with a variety of other crazy mods for the game. One such mod replaces Spider-Man with a playable version of Uncle Ben’s gravestone. That’s right, you can play as Spider-Man’s dead uncle.
This particular mod was created by Saphire on Nexus Mods, and replaces Spider-Man with his dead uncle’s memorial. The gravestone reads “Ben Parker. Beloved Husband and Uncle. 1952-2010.”
Frankly I’m not sure how people come up with these kinds of ideas, and I’m not sure I want to know either. Let’s just carry on enjoying these ridiculous mods without thinking about it too hard.
And in other modding news, a modder was banned from Nexus Mods for a mod that replaces pride flags with the American flag. Nexus Mods swiftly took action, showing that mods like these are not welcome.
