Zelda Breath Of The Wild Running At 8K Resolution Looks Astounding

PC players are able to play Nintendo exclusive The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild running in ultra-glorious 8K with an incredible ray-tracing reshade. Unsurprisingly, it looks pretty sweet.

It’s all made possible by playing an emulated Wii U version of Breath of the Wild running the CEMU emulator software [via PC Gamer].

This gorgeous modded version of Zelda Breath of the Wild looks even more stunning than it ever did on the Nintendo Switch, especially if you have an 8K capable PC with a ray-traced global illumination shader. Seriously, I’m well and truly jealous!

A gameplay video of the enhanced emulated version of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was uploaded to the Digital Dreams YouTube channel. Check out the video below.

This version of Breath of the Wild is also enhanced using the REVO Reshade Redux mod created by Pascal Gilcher.

Granted you can see some screen tearing and texture pop-ups, after all this emulator is based upon the Wii U version of Breath of the Wild.

Nonetheless, some of the environments are stunning. I’m especially impressed with the way in which the light reflects off the grass in the fields, it looks absolutely amazing.

While it’s more than likely that we’ll never see major first-party Nintendo titles on PC, this is just a mere taste of what could be, at least officially speaking.

I suppose at the very least, if the rumours of the Nintendo Switch console which has an OLED screen and can play games in 4K are true, we can perhaps look forward to playing a snazzier version of Breath of the Wild on a console.
