PlayStation’s PS5 State Of Play Is Tonight – Here’s How To Watch

Could we finally have a PS5 release date and price? PlayStation and Xbox have been playing a game of chicken these last few months. A game of chicken that has left many gamers asking two important questions.

  1. How much is your console going to cost?
  2. When will I be able to buy your console?

Xbox were the first to show their hand, much to the delight of many gamers. Along with the price and release date of the Xbox Series X came the price and release date of another console too. The Series S. You can see the difference in specs of the two consoles by clicking here.

The Xbox Series S and X will launch on November 10th. The Series S will cost £250, with the Series X costing £450. If PlayStation will be able to match those prices and release at a similar time is what we’re excited about at GameByte. As we sure you are too!

What to expect from the PlayStation 5 event

The PlayStation 5 event takes place at 9pm on September 16th here in the UK (that’s 1pm PDT and 10pm CEST).

According to the PlayStation blog we can expect to see more of the games that are coming to the PlayStation 5 at launch and beyond. We probably won’t get to see what the final launch lineup of the PS5 is but we might get a better idea at least.

You’ll be able to tune in on PlayStation’s official YouTube, over on Twitch, or basically anywhere else you can possibly imagine (with an internet connection, of course).

There’s no promise of a price or release date announcement right now. We’re hopeful though that now Xbox have shown their hand PlayStation will do too. What price are you expecting? Make sure to let us know!
