Sony Listing Hints The Last Of Us & God Of War Could Come To Mobile

According to a job listing for a Head of Mobile at PlayStation Studios, Sony is seemingly planning to bring some of its biggest brands to mobile.

Other than a few companion apps and a couple of running games using the Uncharted and LittleBigPlanet licenses, Sony hasn’t made much of a play in the mobile market.

However, it seems that Sony won’t be sleeping on the mobile market for much longer as it intends to bring its “most popular franchises” to mobile devices [via VGC].

The position of Head of Mobile will be located at either the Los Angeles or San Mateo offices, and the would-be applicant will be tasked with developing a “mobile product roadmap for a 3-5-year time frame.

The description for the job listing reads as follows: “As Head of Mobile, you will own and develop the mobile games strategy for PlayStation Studios and help build a foundation for future growth opportunities.

You will lead all aspects of the expansion of our game development from consoles and PCs to mobile & Live Services with a focus on successfully adapting PlayStation’s most popular franchises for mobile.

You will be responsible for building and scaling a team of mobile leaders and will serve as the Head of this new business unit within PlayStation Studios.

While the job listing doesn’t state which Sony franchises will be adapted to mobile, some of the brand’s most popular franchises include the likes of The Last of Us, Gran Turismo, God of War, Uncharted and more.

Whether any of these franchises will be ports of previous games or brand news games developed from scratch remains to be seen. Perhaps we’ll get more endless running games? Only time will tell.
