15 PlayStation Games Will Look Better After This Week’s PS5 Update

15 PlayStation 5 games will look even better this week, all thanks to an update that brings Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support.

The VRR update has been a long time coming, with many PS5 owners potentially awaiting its arrival ever since the console launched in November 2020. So now, some of your favourite games will look better than ever!

Variable Refresh Rate dynamically synchronises the refresh rate of compatible display units to improve the graphical output. Often compatible with HDMI 2.1 4K TVs, VRR will remove or at the very least reduce screen tearing and shimmering.

When the update rolls out for everyone this week, not only will a selection of games look even better, but it should also improve input lag. This is particularly handy for competitive online games such as Call of Duty and Destiny 2.

Will more games benefit from VRR support?

Yes, Sony will add more games to benefit from VRR support in the near future. So, if you don’t see a favourite game listed above, hopefully, it will be added later down the road.
