Pokémon GO Update Adds Sparkly ‘Lucky’ Pokémon

Pokémon GO might have seen a dip in its fanbase, but it might be time to charge up your portable phone charger, pack a bag and go for a hike, as “sparkly” Pokémon are about to become available!

According to PokémonGoLive the mobile game is far from over, as new Lucky Pokémon will be let loose into the world in an upcoming update.

The website states: “Professor Willow has made an important new discovery about Pokémon! His findings suggest that Pokémon can take on a new trait when they are traded. The trait’s origin is a mystery, and you can experience it soon in Pokémon GO!

“According to his research, there is a chance that Pokémon, when traded, can become sparkly Lucky Pokémon. It seems that Lucky Pokémon require less Stardust to power up, which means they can reach a higher CP much faster than other Pokémon. Plus, a Lucky Pokémon can be detected by the Pokédex, so you can keep track of them!”

Apparently, the longer you keep your pocket monsters in your Pokémon storage, the more chance they’ll become a Lucky Pokémon once traded – though this is apparently more chance-based than 100% effective.

That’s not the only change to the app though, as Gifts will also be receiving an update.

Gifts will grant you XP if sent to a friend, and there’s now the chance of a Gift including what every trainer needs – Stardust!

There’s no mention of a set release date for the game’s updates, so keep your eyes peeled, and have a look at the update info here.

If you still can’t wait to start collecting your sparkly Poké-pals, you can watch the official teaser video below.
