Pokémon Gold & Silver Recreated In Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been keeping plenty of people (myself included) as sane as possible during lockdown. While some have been busying themselves with in-game gardening, others have been devoting their play time to the pursuit of perfection, and that’s exactly what Twitter user @hinopika has done.

Hinopika has lovingly recreated some of the most memorable areas from the Johto region of Pokémon Gold and Silver within their New Horizons island. Honestly, the results are astounding, and I can’t even begin to imagine how much time and effort this took.

From the inclusion of NPC characters (as decorative items), Pokéballs and even the same design of trees and plants, this is one island that I wouldn’t mind self-isolating on.

Check it out in all its glory via the tweet below.

Of course, you can’t recreate Pokémon without including some…y’know…Pokémon. Within the AC recreation, you can see Shiny Gyarados, a sleeping Snorlax and Pikachu.

Amazing work!

In related news, did you know the toilets in AC: NH actually have a function?

Players who’ve added a toilet to their ever-expanding home probably already figured out that it’s a somewhat functional item rather than just decorative. You can sit on toilets which then brings up the text: “And that takes care of that!”

But it’s not just a cheeky little poo joke…at least not according to AC’s very own Tom Nook. According to the man himself, the toilets in AC actually work to drain your strength, which is acquired by eating fruit.

Sharing the revelation on Twitter, Nook said: “[Life Advice] Perhaps you’ve eaten a bit more fruit than necessary? Yes, yes, then just have a seat on a toilet, and that will take care of that.”

Animal Crossing: New Horizons really is the gift that keeps on giving..!
