As the month of September closes, another round of free games is making its way to the Amazon Prime Gaming service – and this month is a doozy.
Last month, subscribers were treated to EA’s excellent Knockout City dodgeball game. An underrated competitive multiplayer experience, fans could get in on the action for free during the month of September.
Also available was Battlefield V ahead of the launch of 2042 in November. Cosmetic items for Apex Legends, Genchin Impact, Fall Guys, and Valorant were also available. If you’ve not yet redeemed these items, you’ve still got a few days to get your act together!
Prime Gaming Free Games – October 2021
If none of those tickled your fancy last month, then this month will certainly blow your socks off. Included in the free games bundle this month is Star Wars: Squadrons, Alien: Isolation, and Ghostrunner.
Star Wars: Squadrons is an ode to the classic TIE Fighter games of the 90’s. Fully playable in VR, it sees you take control of several Star Wars fighter ships as you fight for either the Rebel Alliance or the Empire. There’s a full campaign to sink your teeth into, or you can try your hand at the competitive multiplayer experience.
Fancy a more tense trip out into space? Alien: Isolation is easily the best Alien game ever made, perfectly capturing the same sense of horror that the first movie provided. Set on a ravaged space station with a roaming Xenomorph to contend with, there’s no option to fight – only hide. Even though Isolation released in 2014, it still holds up incredibly well with the art direction taking stunning inspiration from the movies.
The last big game is Ghostrunner. If Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t quite scratch that itch, Ghostrunner most certainly will. It’s a 3D platformer hack and slash that sees you parkouring through the dingy neon streets of the far future. You’ll use a katana to slice and dice enemies and also deflect incoming fire back at them. Each level is a puzzle in itself to figure out to achieve the quickest time – perfect for those into speedrunning.
What else is on offer?
Alongside those free games, there are also plenty of freebies to take advantage of. A couple of bundles for Call of Duty: Warzone are up for grabs, as are some consumable items for Genshin Impact. Tried getting past the server queues of Amazon’s latest MMO, New World? There’s a Pirate Pack available to claim which gives players unique apparel, an emote, and 5,000 Marks of Fortune.
Star Wars: Squadrons, Alien Isolation, and Ghostrunner will all be available to claim starting from October 1st. The other items will become available as the month goes on, right the way through to October 28th.
