Sony has finally added a feature to the PS5’s DualSense firmware that has been long-awaited by a certain number of its users.
Finally, after almost two years on the market, you can now update the firmware for your PS5 DualSense controller directly via the internet on your PC. All you need to do is click this link to download the app and follow the instructions to update it. Please ensure your controller is connected to your computer through USB, as it won’t work over Bluetooth.
Previously, you needed a PS5 console in order to update the firmware. This meant that PC players that preferred to use the DualSense were left out of enhancing their controller experience with new features and bug fixes.
PlayStation has been making great progress in appealing to PC players over the last couple of years. In addition to native DualSense support across multiple PC games, the company has also brought over some of its most popular exclusives to Steam and other platforms. You can play Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone and God of War on PC now.
And if you’re looking for a spare controller to use, you can buy a PS5 DualSense from £59.95 at the GameByte Shop – in White, Cosmic Red, or Midnight Black.
