PS5 Pro & New Xbox Console Launching Next Year, Claims Tech Giant

Apparently, the PS5 Pro and new Xbox Series X consoles will be launching in 2023, claims a Chinese tech giant.

As reported by GamesRadar, industry insider Tom Henderson spotted a story that suggests the enhanced PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles will launch next year. The claims come from a recent news conference from TCL Technology.

Furthermore, according to the presentation in question, the new consoles will have native 8K and 120Hz support, as well as a 2160p resolution, and an enhanced GPU. However, no prices were hinted at during the news conference.

We’ve heard similar stories already

It’s not the first time that we’ve heard similar claims, despite the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only releasing in late 2020. Back in April this year, claims were made that Microsoft is working on a smaller, more efficient console.

Additionally, there have also been reports of Sony working on a PlayStation 5 Pro. While we must take all rumours with a pinch of salt, these reports should come as no surprise.

It makes sense that both Microsoft and Sony would already be working on new and improved consoles. After all, throughout the console generations, there have always been various iterations.

Could they arrive in 2023?

Both companies would need to plan ahead as the consoles would likely take a couple of years to develop and release. Personally, I’d be surprised if there were new consoles released within the next year. That being said, I wouldn’t be surprised if they arrived by 2024. But that’s just my opinion.

When the day finally comes that a PS5 Pro and a new Series X arrive, let’s hope that we have better stock supplies and no prolonged worldwide shortages.
