PSN May Be Slightly Down… and It Might Be Because of Resident Evil

Update 00:11am GMT – 22.1.2021: Since posting this we have been able to get access to the store for the demo and search the PlayStation Store without errors..

If you were like 1000s of other gamers that watched the Resident Evil Showcase you most likely excitedly booted up your PS5 or went to the PlayStation shop. Excitedly you typed in the words “Resident Evil” waiting for that new demo to pop up and then were met with… well… nothing.

It may be a server issue, it may be something completely unrelated. There hasn’t been any official word to let us know what the issue is. But it has made it difficult for a lot of people to get their hands on the new demo and access the PlayStation Store.

When we posted the news of the demo on Twitter we found out it wasn’t just us having problems downloading it. @wheeleyd05 replied to us saying “If only the psn wasn’t down”.

It wasn’t just them and us having issues either it seemed as Ben-Roy Turner from Whatculture was also having issues. They showed a picture of the PSN screen showing a search for “Resident Evil” with the text saying “Can’t connect now. Try again later.”

It’s not all doom and gloom though as Twitter showed some PlayStation 5 users were able to get access to the demo and get it downloading.

Have you had issues with PSN tonight? Did you get the Resident Evil Village demo, which you can read more about here, downloaded? Let us know over on Twitter!
