‘Real Life’ Horror Game Will Let You Control Game Of Thrones Actor

Game of Thrones’ villainous star Iwan Rheon is set to play the leading role in a new ‘real life’ horror game this Halloween, with his fate quite literally being in your hands.

You might recognise Rheon as one of the most sinister characters in the Game of Thrones HBO TV series – Ramsay Bolton.  Sure, King Joffrey (played by Jack Gleeson) would certainly give Ramsey Bolton a run for his money, and I wouldn’t argue a difference of opinion.  There was something extra evil in Iwan Rheon’s eyes that was just that bit more unnerving in my opinion, and Ramsey Bolton was arguably just as scary in Telltale Games’ adaptation of Game of Thrones too.

However, if Ramsey Bolton still scares you to this day and you want to get some form of pay-back (or perhaps you’re a big fan of the character and you want to make sure that Iwan Rheon comes to no harm) then you might be in luck.

Running from October 28th to October 30th, you’ll be able to take part in a virtual video game experience called Screamfest 4: The Kraken’s Revenge.

What this game essentially does is that it takes the FMV formula to the next level, allowing you to make choices remotely, with actor Iwan Rheon reacting depending on the choices that you make. You’ll be able to watch the action unfold through a live link.

Tickets cost £10 per 10-minute time-slot, which run from 5pm on each of the evenings from Wednesday to Friday.  Once tickets are purchased and your time-slot is allocated, you’ll be provided with a game-guide, ingredients and some Kraken Rum.

When the game has started, players will guide Rheon through the dark halls, eerie rooms and claustrophobic locations, all while being pursued by a terrifying creature.

Rheon had this to say on his role in Screamfest 4: “I’m used to playing a character that did all the controlling but now the tables are turned,” when comparing this role to that of Ramsey Bolton.

Rheon added: “I’ll be at the mercy of people controlling my every move online from anywhere in the country, sending me from room to room in a particularly creepy location while I’m hunted by a monster. I do wonder how many Kraken fans will send me to my doom and how many will save me!”

Screamfest 4: The Krakens Revenges will be created by John Zurhellen, who has been involved directing under Rockstar Games for Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto IV and Manhunt, so this live horror game does contain some pedigree and I can certainly see it having some influences from the likes of Manhunt in particular.

John Zurhellen had this to say on his latest project: “The brief for Kraken Screamfest was simple: come up with a concept more terrifying and warped than anything 2020 has to offer.” Zurhellen added “So, I delved deep into our primal fears – being hunted, tight spaces, dark shadows, hate-filled creatures – and I’m pretty confident I’ll deliver one of the most terrifying experiences to be seen in UK homes this year.”

You can sign-up and purchase tickets for Screamfest 4: The Krakens Revenge right here, but I’d get in there quick, because I imagine slots will be sold fast!

I just hope there’s an option to make Iwan Rheon zigzag run from the monsters that lurk within the horrifying corridors, otherwise he may not make it out alive.
