Release Date Confirmed For SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated

One of the best games of your childhood will soon be available on current-gen consoles (and PC), as the highly-anticipated Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated has gotten a release date. The game was officially announced last year and now the updated version of the iconic title is finally just a few weeks from release.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated will be landing PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on June 23rd.

THQ Nordic promises “high-end visuals,” “modern resolutions” and a new multiplayer mode that features both local and online play. Cut content from the original game has also been slated to appear.

SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated’s official description reads as follows: “Are you ready, kids? The cult classic is back, faithfully remade in spongetastic splendor!

“Play as SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy and show the evil Plankton that crime pays even less than Mr. Krabs. Want to save Bikini Bottom from lots of rampant robots? Of course you do! Want to underpants bungee jump? Why wouldn’t you! Want to join forces in a brand new multiplayer mode? The battle is on!

The game comes with two collector’s editions if you’re a fan of that sort of thing.

The Shiny Edition includes a SpongeBob figure, stickers, tennis socks and a copy of the game. Meanwhile, the F.U.N Edition, with comes with all the same swag as the Shiny Edition, but also includes figures of Patrick and Sandy, and a set of Tiki keyrings.
