Hopefully we’ll be able to leave our homes by the time summer hits, and even if not, we’re still in for some amazing parties thanks to the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog party album.
As revealed by Sonic Stadium, the album will be entitled Sonic the Hedgehog DJ Style Party, and will be based on the 2018 project, SONIC DJ.
SONIC DJ featured work from the Sonic the Hedgehog sound director Tomoya Ohtani’s DJ session at SEGA FES, and the album will be including music from “ages, genres, instrumental, vocal, popular, and minor” pieces from the iconic game series.
Although the full track list hasn’t yet been revealed, you can preorder the album now, or check out the Amazon Japan listing. Even if we’re still stuck at home, Sonic the Hedgehog DJ Style Party will probably make things a lot less tedious.
In related news, early 2020 saw the release of the Sonic live-action movie. The flick surprised fans by being actually not that terrible. It’s so not-terrible that it’s become one of the most successful movies of the year so far – and the most successful video game to movie adaptation opening weekend ever.
Taking a worldwide total sum of $128 million dollars so far, Sonic The Hedgehog rode the wave of controversy regarding his controversial first look and became a smash hit.
Now there are reportedly are talks of the movie turning into a franchise, and some exciting actors look to be set to join the sequel.
Neal McDonough, (who plays Major Bennington in the film) has heard talks of a huge movie star joining the franchise, and he hinted very heavily at The Rock’s potential appearance.
Guess we’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for any future projects that align the two together…
