The release dates for the next wave of Pokemon games have been revealed by the official Japanese Pokemon website.
As spotted by Twitter’s Nibel, the website has Pokemon Legends: Arceus listed with a release date of January 28, 2022. Meanwhile, the remakes of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, entitled “Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl” will launch on November 19, 2021.
The news also comes with the box art reveal for all three of the games. Check out the images in the tweet above!
Having the release dates leak from the official Japanese Pokemon website is definitely unexpected, as usually this information would come from a Nintendo Direct. However, we’re not exactly complaining.

In case you missed it, Pokemon Legends: Arceus is an open-world Pokemon adventure which has seen many comparisons to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. Check out the reveal trailer in the video below!
While we still have a little while to go before we get our hands on Pokemon Legends: Arceus, at least the wait for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl isn’t too long!
“Experience the nostalgic story from the Pokémon Diamond™ and Pokémon Pearl™ games in an adventure reborn on the Nintendo Switch™ system,” says Nintendo.

“Adventures in the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl games will take place in the Sinnoh region. Rich in nature and with Mount Coronet towering at its heart, Sinnoh is a land of many myths passed down through the ages. You’ll visit many different locations in the Sinnoh region, while striving to become the Champion of the Pokémon League.“
We have some time to decide which version we want, so the question I ask is: are you going for Brilliant Diamond or Shining Pearl? Let us know across our social media channels!
