Remedy Entertainment will soon be starting full production of its AAA game as part of its deal with Epic Games, which is believed to be Alan Wake 2.
Rumours of Alan Wake 2 have been around for years. It’s kinda like a game that has been lost in developmental hell, only as far as we know, Alan Wake 2 has never been in development.
Yet according to recent rumours and speculation, that is about to change as it’s believed that as part of a deal with Epic Games, Remedy Entertainment may begin full production of Alan Wake 2 soon.
Remedy Entertainment recently provided an update of upcoming projects, albeit it’s all a little vague. Back in March 2020, a deal with Epic Games was agreed that would result in two unannounced titles.
“Remedy’s AAA game project with Epic Games is soon moving into full production, and the second, smaller-scale game continues in full production mode,” confirmed the studio in a business review published on Wednesday.
This is by no means confirmation that Alan Wake 2 will soon be in development, but the speculation does fall in line with what GamesBeat reporter Jeff Grubb claimed in March.
According to reports of the deal between Remedy and Epic Games, the studio would develop a “AAA multiplatform game” (which could be Alan Wake 2), and the other is a “smaller-scale” project.
It is also said that the deal with Epic will see the company cover up to 100% of development and publishing costs, and will share 50% of the profits with Remedy once the development costs have been recouped.
At this time, reports of Alan Wake 2 are speculation until confirmed otherwise, so we must take the reports with a pinch of salt. Yet, what better way for Epic Games to make big money than by giving fans the sequel that we have been desperate to see for years?
