Resident Evil 2 Remake Will Include Free Post-Launch DLC Including Polygon Characters

It’s officially time to get excited because the Resident Evil 2 remake is (finally) nearly here!

The game has received high praise across the gaming community (check out GameByte’s review right here) and it’s safe to say that Capcom has a real winner on its zombie-fied hands.

The news gets even better for fans of Mr. Kennedy and Miss. Redfield, as Capcom has confirmed that the game will be getting free post-launch DLC. Hooray!

Not too much has been revealed about the upcoming DLC, but we do know a little…

During a Japanese celebration event for the game, Capcom confirmed the game will get an all-new mode entitled The Ghost Survivors. From the sounds of it, The Ghost Survivors will follow some of the lesser-known characters in the game, including the owner of the Kendo Gun Shop.

The new mode will include randomised features, an in-game shop and difficult challenges. It sounds like a new take on the classic Mercenaries modes from previous Resident Evil games, offering something new for players once the main campaign is over.

The freebies keep on coming though, as on 22nd March 2019 you’ll be able to download some seriously nostalgic Claire and Leon skins. The skins, named “’98 Leon” and “’98 Claire,” are the classic low polygon characters models we’ve come to know and love, and we’re sure long-standing fans of the series won’t be able to get enough of them.

Resident Evil 2 releases 25th January 2019 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
