EDIT: Since the time of writing, it’s been confirmed that Resident Evil 3 will be getting a playable demo on March 19th. Check out the full details below.
Original story:
Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 Remake is set to be one of the best games of 2020, and we might be getting a taste of it sooner rather than later according to new rumours.
It’s already been confirmed by Capcom that a playable demo of RE3 Remake will be available for download at some point before the game’s launch, we just don’t know when.
According to a report from VG24/7, the playable demo could be dropping as soon as this Friday (20th). (Why on earth you’d try and launch a demo on the same day that Animal Crossing: New Horizons and DOOM Eternal launch is beyond me, but hey, I guess it’s a demo and not the full game so…)
The rumour comes courtesy of known Resident Evil leaker and Twitter user @AestheticGamer1, who has been correct about RE leaks in the past.
They didn’t offer up any clarification on where the supposed news has come from, so as always, take the rumour with a pinch of salt for now.
Last year’s Resident Evil 2 Remake was a bonafide smash hit and also launched just after a playable demo. The demo was timed and was only playable one time per account.
If the rumours of a March 20 release date are true, we thankfully won’t have too long to wait!
Resident Evil 3’s official description reads as follows: “Resident Evil 3 returns to PlayStation 4 on April 3rd, 2020. Experience Jill Valentine’s encounter with the unrelenting Nemesis in this survival-horror classic remade from the ground up.
“It also includes Resident Evil Resistance, a new 1 vs 4 asymmetrical online multiplayer game set in the Resident Evil universe. Cooperate as one of four Survivors or as a twisted Mastermind attempting to stop them at every turn.”
Resident Evil 3 is due to release on consoles and PC, April 3rd, 2020.
