This mod is quite simply, the Resident Evil and Tomb Raider combination of your dreams.
What is this mod in question called? Resident Evil Retold. However, unlike many other fantastic mods, this one is a little different.

If you’re a fan of the Resident Evil modding community, you would have seen many incredible mods. Some use the old Resident Evil and Resident Evil 2 engines. Other mods utilise the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes wonderfully. In a nutshell, if there’s a Resident Evil game you love, the chances are that it’s been modded one way or another on PC.
Just recently we covered an amazing mod by the name of Resident Evil: During the Storm. A mod that is pretty much its very own game that adds to the lore of what happened prior to the events of the T-Virus outbreak of Raccoon City.

Resident Evil Retold
Resident Evil Retold is very different to During the Storm. It recreates sections of Resident Evil 2 not using an engine related to Resident Evil at all. Instead, it uses the engine from Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation.
If you imagine Claire Redfield channelling Lara Croft whilst taking down monsters in Raccoon City then you’ll get Resident Evil Retold.
Resident Evil Retold is created by Tomb Raider community modder Zellphie. According to them, Retold is more of a re-imagining rather than a remake of RE2.
Despite only being in demo status right now, Resident Evil Retold features the likes of Leon S. Kennedy, Robert Kendo and his Gun Shop, the Raccoon Police Department, the S.T.A.R.S office and so much more.
Want to know how to play the Resident Evil Retold demo? You can find out how by visiitng Zellphie’s DeviantArt post about it.
I watched a full demo playthrough of Resident Evil Retold back in February courtesy of YouTuber, Kai Morgan of Ink Ribbon and it’s great to get to spread the word of this awesome mod.
