Resident Evil Village has tied with RE 6 to become the fastest-selling game in the long-running survival horror series.

“Resident Evil Village Ships Over 3 Million Units Globally,” says the press release published by Capcom.
The press release continues: “Stunning visuals and terrifying gameplay combine for a deeply immersive experience, captivating fans worldwide and delivering a strong start to sales.”
Resident Evil Village is the joint-best launch game in the series because, in 2012, Resident Evil 6 also sold three million unit sales during the same launch period.
In recent years, Resident Evil Village has had a more successful launch than the 2019 Resident Evil 2 remake which sold over two million units within its first five days. The 2020 Resident Evil 3 remake sold around 2.5 million units in its first four days.
The success for the Resident Evil franchise doesn’t stop there, because thanks to the launch of Resident Evil Village, the series has now achieved over 100 million unit sales since it made its debut in 1996. Congratulations Capcom!
In related Resident Evil Village news, on its first day, the latest survival horror instalment from this series reached over 100,000 concurrent players on Steam. The previous record was held by the Resident Evil 2 remake with over 74,000 concurrent players.
