Earlier last year it was confirmed that a fifth addition to the beloved Saints Row series is in the works, but we might be seeing it sooner than expected.
In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, the CEO of Koch Media, Klemens Kundratitz spoke on the future of a number of IPs under the company’s belt: including those of THQ Nordic and Deep Silver.
“Saints Row is very close to our hearts, and we’ll talk about it next year,” Kundratitz told the publication. “For the time being, we just wanted to get the word out that it’s coming and it’s going to be great.”
Following the game’s announcement earlier this year, actor Troy Baker tweeted the company asking them to get “the whole gang together” for the fifth instalment of the franchise.
There’s no word yet on who will or won’t be returning for Saints Row 5, but here’s hoping the OG cast will be making an appearance!
Baker has made no secret of his love for the Saints Row games. Speaking exclusively to GameByte during Manchester Comic Con last year, Baker praised the series’ writing, saying: “There were some pretty wretched lines that [Nolan North] and I had to do in Saints Row.
“I love that game. It was supposed to be intentionally irreverent, but it was just so well written. There were points where I was like ‘I cannot believe I’m about to say this.’”
Fellow Saints Row actor Nolan North chimed in, adding: “There’s some lines in [Saints Row] that you would never say. Like who thought about putting these words – who ever thought of this?!”
Here’s hoping we hear more from Saints Row 5 sooner rather than later!
