It has been announced that Saints Row: The Third Remastered is coming to new-gen consoles, and it will also include a free upgrade.
Saints Row: The Third Remastered is a remaster of the game that released for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 back in 2011.
In April 2020, Saints Row: The Third Remastered was then announced for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Now, this crazy fan-favourite instalment of the beloved series will be coming to next-generation consoles.
Better still, those that already own Saints Row: The Third Remastered for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will receive a free upgrade to new-gen consoles when the game launches for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S later this month.
Along with the new-gen announcement, it was also revealed that the remaster will come to PC Steam and GOG, ending the Epic Games Store timed-exclusivity deal.
According to a press release from publisher Deep Silver, the next-gen upgrade of Saints Row: The Third Remastered will run at 60 frames-per-second and a dynamic 4K resolution, as well as improved loading times.
The next-gen remaster will also be playable in two modes. Performance Mode will lock at 60fps but will lower the resolution to 1080p. Beauty Mode will lock at 30fps but will upscale to a 4K resolution.
PlayStation 5 players will also be able to take advantage of the DualSense controller haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. As an added touch, the DualSense controller light will also be the Saints Row signature purple glow.
Saints Row: The Third Remastered will release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on May 25th.
