Scathe Is ‘Bullet Hell Doom’ And Coming Later This Year

UK based developer Damage State has announced Scathe, a Doom-like bullet hell first-person-shooter.

Do you ever find yourself sitting and playing Doom (2016) and think, ‘golly, I wish I was playing Doom (2016), but there was just a metric tonne of bullets flying at me?’ Well today is your lucky day, because Scathe is pretty much exactly that.

Scathe is made by Damage State, a three person team that just happens to be from the same town as Forza Developer Playground Games.

According to the game’s Steam page, Scathe is “an intense, blood-soaked FPS where quick reflexes are the key to surviving the bullet Hell labyrinth that stands between you and your ascension.

“You play as Scathe, Enforcer of the legions of Hell, forged from the earth by the Divine Creator themself. And you, like your fallen kin before you, must prove your worth by navigating a deviously crafted maze, entangled with demonic evil at every twist and turn.”

Not only will you be able to take on hell itself, but you’ll be able to do so with a buddy. Scathe features “crossplay online multiplayer where players can drop-in and drop-out at any time.” You can play with up to three friends, but as Damage State warns, “choose your kin wisely, because in Scathe, everyone shares the same pool of lives.”

Scathe doesn’t currently have a release date other than some time in 2022. But the game is available to wishlist on Steam.
