The highly anticipated season one of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is here and with it comes a whole host of free content as well as integration with Call of Duty: Warzone.
The update is live as of right now for both Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare/Warzone.
Not only do the updates mean that player and weapon progression, as well as earned and bought content, is shared between Cold War and Warzone, but it also means that we’ll be getting free maps, modes and more.
For starters in Black Ops Cold War we’ll be getting new/updated maps this week such as Nuketown ’84 Holiday, Game Show, The Pines, Raid, ICBM, KGB and U-Bahn. Then later in season one we’ll also be getting the maps Sanatorium and Vehicle: Tactical Raft.
In terms of new modes Gunfight 2v2 will be coming to Black Ops Cold War and Prop Hunt 6v6 (a favourite of mine), followed by Dropkick 6v6 and Combined Arms: Hardpoint 12v12 later in the season.
We’ll also be getting three new Operators beginning with Switch: Warsaw Pact this week, followed by Bulldozer: NATO and Zeyna: NATO releasing at a later date.
Five new weapons will also be introduced to Black Ops Cold War such as the Groza Assault Rifle and the MAC 10 SMG this week. Later in the season the Streetsweeper Shotgun, the Sledgehammer and Wakizashi melee weapons will arrive.
Zombies will also be getting new modes for Black Ops Cold War including Jingle Hells this week and Cranked later on in season one.
For Warzone battle royale fans the new standalone Rebirth Island has arrived as well as a new Verdansk Gulag in Warzone, a new Attack helicopter in Warzone and a new Resurgence mode in Warzone.
Season one will also bring a host of new challenges, Prestige levels and over 30 additional weapons in Warzone from Black Ops Cold War.
Finally the latest update also brings loads more added features, improvements and fixes as detailed in the patch notes via the Activision blog post.
