The latest Marvel movie to hit the cinema is – of course – Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Releasing earlier this month to high praise from critics and fans alike, the latest adventure of Spider-Man and co. sees everyone’s favourite web-slinger cope with the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame.
Those of you who’ve seen the movie and played Marvel’s Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4 may have noticed what appears to be a cheeky Easter egg in the new film, and it’s some seriously nice fan servicing [via TheGamer].
WARNING: MILD SPOILERS FOR SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME AHEAD!
During the latest Tom Holland feature film, Spider-Man is seen web-swinging his way around New York City towards the end of the movie.
While swinging, he sends a text to his girlfriend Mary Jane, and also happens to grab a quick selfie (surely it’s not safe to be texting while swinging, but we’ll let Spidey off this time).
Interestingly, Spider-Man makes a peace sign with his fingers for the selfie, copying the iconic pose seen in Insomniac Games’ 2018 Spider-Man game.
The pose was made famous thanks to the game’s stunning Photo Mode, which encouraged players to take fun and creative selfies as Spider-Man, just like Tom Holland does in the movie.
Pretty nifty, huh?
Whether or not it’s a direct reference to the game, or if maybe it’s just Spidey’s new cool-guy pose isn’t clear, but we like to think it’s an Easter egg.
If you’ve yet to see Spider-Man: Far From Home it’s definitely worth a watch, and if you haven’t played Marvel’s Spider-Man then it’s about time you invested some hours in that too!
Starring  Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson and Jake Gyllenhaal, Spider-Man: Far From Home released in cinemas worldwide, July 2 2019.
