Now THIS would be "about time"!

Spyro The Dragon 4 Seemingly Teased By Activision

Thanks to a page in the Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time art book, fans believe we could soon be hearing news of a Spyro the Dragon 4.

The art book in question features a section with futuristic flying cars that were a nod to a level in Crash Bandicoot 4. However, seen below the hovering cars, Spyro the dragon can be spotted.

A quote in the book from concept artist Brun Croes [via Twitter’s SpyroUniverse] explains: “It was fun to combine Dingo’s Diner with the futuristic element, to have those cars flying with the city down below… and a little hint at Spyro.

Obviously the artwork might not be a tease for a Spyro the Dragon 4 and it might just be a simple Easter egg. However it’s not unlike Activision or the developers at Toys for Bob to tease an upcoming title in such a way.

In November, a new Crash Bandicoot was apparently teased in Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. During the first level of its campaign, a TV can be found which allows players to flick through the channels.

When flicking through the channels all four logos of the main entries in the Crash Bandicoot series can be seen. However – for those with a specific completion percentage – a fifth and currently unidentified logo can also be seen. This caused much speculation that a new Crash game might be on the way.

In 2018 the Spyro Reignited Trilogy was released which featured remakes of the original three PlayStation classics and were largely well received by fans and critics alike.

However a fourth main entry in the beloved Spyro the Dragon series is long overdue, as in recent years the lovable dragon has only featured in the remastered trilogy and cameos in other franchises such as Skylanders.
